Dermal fillers largely consist of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that binds water within the skin, supplying abundant hydration. Because dermal fillers can be used to add volume where it is needed, the hyaluronic acid is formulated with a gel-like consistency so it can be injected and gently massaged into place where it integrates with your natural tissues. Dermal fillers also contain a small amount of local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort associated with needles.

Though it remains possible for some of the filler to ‘migrate’, that rare circumstance is something we can also correct with a follow-up treatment.

Dermal filler treatment is minimally invasive, but as an extra measure, we ensure that discomfort is minimised by applying a topical anaesthetic cream to the skin prior to treatment. The dermal fillers also contain a small amount of local anaesthetic.

One of the most celebrated features of dermal fillers is that results are visible immediately. There might be some slight bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection sites but these will fade within a few days. Results can last anywhere from 6-18 months, depending on the client, their skin, and their lifestyle.
